Those banks look natural, but are actually the site of an Iron Age promontory fort called The Rumps! The joy of working on a local project is making amazing discoveries about the heritage hidden in the landscape on our doorstep. We are at the early stages of developing an Interpretation Plan for Cornwall AONB’s Monumental Improvement Project. As we visit the sites and develop the stories, it is easy to appreciate why it is so important for this heritage to be cared for and understood.
